Attract New Business to District 21

Action Plan #1

Collaborate with the D21 action team to actively brand the distinct neighborhoods of the district

Action Plan #2

Inventory vacant commercial property across the district and meet with property owners to understand their planning and goals along with offering resources.

Action Plan#3:

Develop promotional materials highlighting distinct neighborhoods, existing properties, zoning, infrastructure and area demographics with a focus on potential (i.e. telling the story).  Concentrate efforts on the following areas: Beechmont Business District, Iroquois Shopping Center, New Cut Road/Taylor Blvd and the Preston Highway Corridor including Lynnview Commercial Center.

Action Plan #4:

Support a comprehensive economic study to determine what types of businesses are needed in the area

Action Plan #5:

Partner with Louisville Forward and area business associations to identify potential investors and opportunities

Partner with the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau to increase local business promotion via existing marketing strategies.

Partner with Louisville Independent Business Alliance, Southwest Dream Team and South Louisville Business Association to support business growth and opportunity.

Promote existing Metro financial incentives and trainings ( for example,  Microbusiness Development Program, loan programs and entrepreneurship workshops)

Action Plan #2: 

Conduct a community assets map surveying entrepreneurial talent to better understand existing resources for alignment with future opportunities

Action Plan #3: 

Secure revenue to support an annual grant opportunity specific for Southend entrepreneurship
